Break in the schedule

SLCN will be taking a break from our usual schedule of live shows for 10 days starting from Monday 8th October. The Metanomics presentations are the only exception and will be broadcast at 11am Mondays as usual.

Media Ecology on SLCN

We are pleased to add a new series to our schedule with the weekly Media Ecology talks hosted by Kenny Hubble.
Highlights include guest speaker Eric McLuhan, son of famous scholar and media commentator Marshall McLuhan.
The presentations take place at 5pm Monday on the We the Living sim and streamed live on SLCN.TV.

SLCN @ Virtual Worlds - Short break in transmission

The core SLCN crew will all be going to San Jose for the Virtual Worlds Conference. This will mean that our normal shooting schedule will be on hold from Thursday 11 October to Tuesday 16 October. Normal transmission will resume on Thursday 18 October.

We are happy to make appointments to meet with people at VW Fall. Please IM Starr Sonic to make arrangements.

SLCN Producer Seminar

On Monday (September 17th) at 5pm I am hosting a seminar for people interested in becoming show producers with SLCN.
The one hour seminar covers the basics about how to pitch a show, how we manage remote teams, how the sound and action cues work and how to market your show.
Places are limited to please IM Starr Sonic to reserve your seat.

Female host needed

We are now looking for a female host for a high profile show that is going to start on SLCN shortly.

A presenter will be needed once a week to be the anchor of a show that features a special guest from the entertainment and digital media community.

Advertise on SLCN.TV

We have recently released our advertising and sponsorship rates for those businesses interested in reaching the growing SLCN.TV audience.

Our first advertiser is MenuBar Memorial for this business Watermoon Breeze who is taking 4 Adspots on Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe.

We have designed the advertising so there are various tiers of pricing, so every SL business has the opportunity to have their brand on television in SL.

SLCC "Media in SL" panel guest and San Francisco visit

I'm doing last minute preparations to travel to Chicago for the Second Life Community Convention. I am really looking forward to attending this event and meeting the many friends I have made in SL.

I am happy to schedule meetings with people interested in making shows on SLCN. Please email me starr@slcn.tv to arrrange a time and place.

After the conference I am going to San Francisco for 4 days. During this time I am going to visit Millions of Us and Linden Labs. I would also be happy to meet with people interested in SLCN.TV. Again, if you would like to arrange a meeting then please email and I will try and arrange a time on the 28th or 29th of August.

La participation culture

I am continually surprised by the voracity of involvement of our duckyfresh Watanabe. Not only is she working tirelessly to prepare the That S'Life shows, but she is helping with the MODA Fashion Show, doing modelling school herself and she has now just entered the Miss SL Tropics competition and is a finalist. Go ducky!

Producing Live TV Seminar - dates now confirmed

We are inviting all people interested in making TV in Second Life to attend our seminars in August.

Seminar 1 : Tuesday 7th August @ 3pm SLT
Seminar 2 : Monday 20th August @ 6pm SLT

The free one hour events will detail things like what shows we are looking for, what team is required to produce a show, how to synchronize sound and how we coordinate action cues for remote teams.

New presenter on That S'Life

Things are really hotting up at SLCN and my role is getting busier as I work with show producers to launch and manage their weekly shows. It is getting difficult to juggle preparing and hosting That S'Life, as well as being the Exec Producer here at SLCN.

One of the bright young sparks who came along to an after show get-together, duckyfresh Watanabe, showed great interest in becoming an on-air presenter.

She immediately started helping with That S'Life and within only a few weeks she is now co-presenting the show.

By the end of August she will be hosting the show entirely by herself.

This is really exciting to us because ducky has achieved her goal to become an on-air personality and we have attracted great talent and assisted them in becoming a key member of our crew, even though we exist on opposite sides of the planet.

duckyfresh is a delightful person and we are enjoying working with her immensely, so expect to see her taking her place as an SLCN personality, bringing you the latest in what to do in-world.
